"This is a very neat web site. I am in a master's class at St. Mary's College in Moraga California. The class is Leadership for the 21st Century. A stand alone program in the school of extended education. One of my fellow cohort members listed this site for our class project on Futures of Leadership. We have been exposed to J. Rost model of of Leadership which is an influence relationship among collaborators who intend real changes that reflect their mutual purposes. (1989) And this is the model that I speak too. I look forward to visiting this web site often. Thank you for being here."

"Greg,

This was truly an awesome article [Why Can't Johnny Read or Lead]. My husband is in the sports/entertainment industry and I can tell you stories that would make your toes curl.

My plan is to direct him to your well written article.
Thanx!"

"In a word, awesome!

I have been reading the monthly Leadership Tips since November 2001 and the emergence of the new site [weLEAD In Learning] provides so much great information. I equate it to spending quality time with some of the greatest minds in Business/Leadership circles. There is clearly something for everyone.

Thanks so much!"

"Dear Greg,

Hello. I'm writing both in appreciation of your article on personal leadership, and to ask you a question.

I am a psychologist who has trained and now practices as a full-time personal and professional coach. As I've been working on my coaching "mission statement," the phrase 'personal leadership' came to mind to describe my focus with clients. So, I did a google.com search, and that is how I found your article from weLEAD Online magazine. I resonated to the description of personal leadership and the traits of a personal leader that you identified in the article. I appreciate how you laid out the concepts clearly and compellingly.

Best regards,"

"I am part of an IT leadership team for our corporation. As part of this team, we send out Monthly Leadership Tips to approx 60 of our internal IT leaders. I would like permission to use your tip from March 2002, "Stop Analysis Paralysis", in my email.

I have been impressed with your site (what I have seen so far). I look forward to exploring it more.

Thanks"

"I have been a prosecutor in the District Attorney General's office, here in Memphis, Tennessee, for over 25 years. Last year I was assigned to a new position which is almost entirely managerial. I discovered your E-magazine shortly thereafter. It has been very helpful to me. I also lecture for the National College of District Attorneys at various seminars around the country, usually on topics involving trial advocacy. Now I have been asked to talk to potential career prosecutors about "leadership." I would like to use some quotes from your materials, acknowledging their source (and recommending your website and publication) for educational purposes. May I do so with your permission? If so, by what name do you want to be cited? I was planning on referring to www.leadingtoday.org.

Again, thank you for your publication. It is useful and thought provoking."

"Mr. Thomas

I was so pleased to read your article [The Age of the Anti-Leader] because I thought I was the only "crazy zaney" leadership development person in the universe who was still FOR leadership. I struggle everyday with people who want to deconstruct "leadership" -- both in concept and in practice -- and had never heard the term "anti-leadership," which describes what I have been experiencing perfectly. I believe there are complex sociological reasons for the vilification of leadership in contemporary culture, but, being the primary developer of a youth leadership training program here in Virginia, I have observed that the attitude takes its toll early on among young people who--it becomes ingrained in them -- tend to view and react to anyone exerting leadership -- whether good or bad -- as a "control freak" -- just out of hand -- without much critical thinking on the issue. Thanks. I'm printing out your article so I can re-read it."

"Hiya,

I came across your website just by mistake....and a very good mistake that was because I am so impress with your web site that I have printed and saved all the monthly leadership tips... I work for Malaysia Airlines at London Heathrow Airport and in our HQ in Malaysia we have a monthly staff magazine and with your kind approval I would like to forward the monthly tips to them for them to share it with our other staff system wide... I will of course mention in the beginning of my article that I obtained this information from leadingtoday.org website for copyright purposes... I am writing to request your permission to allow me to do so...

Look forward to your response... many thanks"

"I really enjoyed your web site. I am an education coordinator for the East Bay Conservation Corps in Oakland CA. We are a non- profit charter school educating primarly "at risk" African American young adults in an urban setting. I have recently started a leadership academy for a select group of my students. Do you know of any good training or activities on basic management and leadership skills that may be specific to my population or for young adults in general. Thank you so much for your time, and for the good information on your web site."

Hello

What a great site you have. I discovered it last night while I was working on a leadership paper for a course I am taking with San Diego State University (distance education MA program in Educational Leadership). I spent quite a bit of time reading your articles on leadership. I have passed your site link on to some of my classmates."

"I teach Vocational Nursing. I would like your permission to use 3 of your articles from Leading Today. I would use them for a handout and give your organization credit for the information.

Thank you for your consideration."

"Dear Greg,

I had to take a brief moment to write you regarding, such a well written article about personal leadership. I am a graduating senior (May 2002) @ Mercer University in Atlanta Georgia earning a degree in Organizational Leadership. Your article really highlighted all aspects of who, what, and how I have fostered my personal experiences and moral convictions to be the very best Afro-American female future leader of the 21st century. While having studied leadership theory and practical application at Mercer, this article referenced that leadership begins internally within the person. I completely acknowledge and agree!

Thanks again, look forward to reading more of your articles.

Sincere Regards,"

"I was wondering if it is possible to reprint an article in one of our association's newsletter. If so, I'd like to reprint the March 2001 Leadership Tip, Leadership Vision. Please let me know exactly how I should attribute this article.

Thank you."

"Greg,

Thanks for the last edition of weLEAD. I enjoyed your article "When Everything Seems to Go Wrong". Hope all is going well with your publication. The tragedies of this week certainly remind us of the importance of freedom of speech and of the importance of all of our freedoms."

"I found your site by searching through google.com for leadership articles. I am currently enrolled in a distance learning class and will mention this site in my class. I am also interested in assessing my leadership style and ways to improve. Do you know of a site that can do the assessment or any recommendations on how to get one done. I signed up for the online notification of articles and look forward to reading them."

Thanks,"

"I very much enjoyed your article on Thomas Jefferson [Leadership Lessons From the Life of Thomas Jefferson]. Thank you for it. I am not convinced that Jefferson was a deist either, at least according to modern definition. The Jefferson Bible that you refer to is a study in its own right as Jefferson removed all the parts he considered preposterous or metaphorical (primarily miracles, resurrections, etc.). From my reading I believe Jefferson was a man who devoutly believed in a greater force or God but as you depicted so well in your article, he did not adopt the teachings of organized religions of his day. Very well done."

Best regards,
N M

"Dr. Baker:

Enjoyed your article! [What is the Right Way to Peel a Banana?] And yes I have registered my email so I won't miss any issues! Glad to be able to help build the list. Hopefully others will contact those they know would enjoy weLEAD!

Keep up the good work!"
